Sonny 2
Rated 5 / 5 stars April 22, 2009
Legendary
Sonny is probably one of the most beuatifully made flashes of its time. The sound, music, graphics, story line, everything is nearlly flawless. The diffcullty is a healthy challenge as you can gain XP by fighting other characters instead of being doomed to fight the more difficult characters over and over again. I played the 1st Sonny for about 2 weeks and I knew that it would take quite a while for the sequel to come out due to painstaking amount of work and high quality invested into this one. As far as overall presenation Sonny is probably the best RPG of recent times Newgrounds has to offer. The creators have done a superb job once again!
Portal Defenders

Alright
Pros
Its a fun game initially. The creativity is a defenite 10, and smoothness and animation is flawless. It defenitely looks like a bonus game you would see on X-Box Arcade's Castle Crashers and the game plays much like it. The boss characters are interesting and defentiely genuine which helps fuel the gamers interest in the game. The mini games were also a defenite plus as well as the medals and unlockable characters.
Cons
The idea of starting over again can be quite annoying after each death. Perhaps this is b.c. the game is relatively short and so it enhances difficulty but any casual gamer will find this frustrating and more then likely exit out. The health items at times can be incredibly random as some times you get tons while other times you'll be lucky to get 2. The simple hitting of one button and the lack of true button combos also takes an edge away from the game, but that leads to more strategic surgical melee strikes to avoid big damage. The games repetetiveness is also one of the bigger downfalls. No change of boards, the fighting concept remaining flat, and the lack of weapon diversity also will restrict interest in the game.
Overall Conclusion
Portal Defenders is a good game to play if your up for a decent challenge. The animation and game play is smooth and premium quality, but if you lack the patience you can easily lose interest after playing the game a few times. The replay value is moderate since the medals, and hidden characters are enough to keep you going. The simpleness of the fighting of the game is a bit repetetive but if you like simple fighting like games you'll probably have a blast.

Thing-Thing 4
Rated 3.5 / 5 stars April 20, 2009
always collect the ammo
interesting story but you might as well start over if your stuck on a higher board with a few bullets left in your weapon. You'll get over swarmed instantly by 15 guys whos gun range is so long that they can kill you while off the screen and your health isn't even legit enough to compensate their numbers and fire power. A little changes here and there should make this game a bit better though.

Cool stuff
Very creative. I laughed at his speed being mach 15. At sea level that's over 11,000 miles an hour. The fastest jet on the planet hits Mach 3.3. The only thing man made that could beat that speed is a Space Shuttle re-entering the atmosphere which tops out at 28,000 km/h (17,500 m/hr). Of course this all a work of fiction so I doubt all the rules of physics apply. Nonetheless great job.

Brilliant.!
Its art kids! Its not a 100% realistic snapshot, because if that's the case there a hundred things you could say about the lighting and things of that nature which would take away from the true quality of this work. I'm actually glad he didn't make it like this because the colors displayed in his depiction tell FAR more than what you would see in a more realistic snap shot. The contrast between the white light and the red light, both showing in equal proportion on his face is brilliant. To me it symbolizes the decision of either embracing a dark and violent approach or embracing a less severe more merciful approach. The lack of focus on the man in the back and the greater focus on the guy in the front further symbolizes his predicament in making the choice. It almost feels as if the viewer is in this guys situation. The cigar and the iritated scowl obviously show the guy is ticked and really would prefer to be dealing with other things besides this. With the shooter in the back being more out of focus it shows an uncertainty within him. It looks as if he might be nervous or afraid and may be unable to pull the trigger, if forced to do so. The cigar shows that this guy is the type of boss you don't want to cross. Its defenitely someone who's been in this type of business for a while and is a veteran in this situations.
Overall excellent work. You should design the cover art for some mobster game! I'd defenitely give it at 10/10
Thanks for the defense of the work. It balances the critiques. Everyone that has reviewed me with a critique has been nice about it. As long as people are respectful they are worth listening to. Hell even if they told me I sucked it would be a benefit to listen. An artist can always improve. I think it's important to understand what people are seeing. It's like giving you a an extra pair of eyes. Lets you see it in a fresh new way. Something I try to constantly do while I'm working.
I'd love to do this for a living.

Imaturity at its finest
The only way this is remotely funny is if you picture that kid being every person who thinks that this video was the best thing since sliced bread. I mean kids with cancer what's next making a comedy about all the people who died during 9/11? Of course if you did that the same idiots would worship you as a god or something like that.
