The only way this is remotely funny is if you picture that kid being every person who thinks that this video was the best thing since sliced bread. I mean kids with cancer what's next making a comedy about all the people who died during 9/11? Of course if you did that the same idiots would worship you as a god or something like that.
So the greatest flash creators in all newgrounds lead by the almighty Tom Fulp come together and make this... For 30 minutes of my time I was expecting something fare more epic.
William shackner in a nighowl costume shouting no was priceless. Fabio as Mr. Manhattan brilliant. Willie Mays as the Comedian outstanding. This was quite a hilarious spoof, and if you think about the personality of the charcters intwine almost perfectly with those portrayed in the comic book. Except for that progressive woman. Of course if she was some how the illegitimately related to Willie Mays it wouldn't surprise me. Grand job!
When I first saw the Blockhead series I thought it was most idiotic thing I had ever seen. Then I went to college, and encountered numerous fools on a daily basis which in turn made viewing Blockhead incredibly entertaining as I related the idiots to Blockhead and my self and a few friends to his Concious. There has been nothing greater than experiencing the sweet release of unprejiduced stupidity that only Blockhead can do which makes me laugh hysterically as the battle between reason and intelligence rages on against idiotic madness.
Sonny is probably one of the most beuatifully made flashes of its time. The sound, music, graphics, story line, everything is nearlly flawless. The diffcullty is a healthy challenge as you can gain XP by fighting other characters instead of being doomed to fight the more difficult characters over and over again. I played the 1st Sonny for about 2 weeks and I knew that it would take quite a while for the sequel to come out due to painstaking amount of work and high quality invested into this one. As far as overall presenation Sonny is probably the best RPG of recent times Newgrounds has to offer. The creators have done a superb job once again!
Pros
Its a fun game initially. The creativity is a defenite 10, and smoothness and animation is flawless. It defenitely looks like a bonus game you would see on X-Box Arcade's Castle Crashers and the game plays much like it. The boss characters are interesting and defentiely genuine which helps fuel the gamers interest in the game. The mini games were also a defenite plus as well as the medals and unlockable characters.
Cons
The idea of starting over again can be quite annoying after each death. Perhaps this is b.c. the game is relatively short and so it enhances difficulty but any casual gamer will find this frustrating and more then likely exit out. The health items at times can be incredibly random as some times you get tons while other times you'll be lucky to get 2. The simple hitting of one button and the lack of true button combos also takes an edge away from the game, but that leads to more strategic surgical melee strikes to avoid big damage. The games repetetiveness is also one of the bigger downfalls. No change of boards, the fighting concept remaining flat, and the lack of weapon diversity also will restrict interest in the game.
Overall Conclusion
Portal Defenders is a good game to play if your up for a decent challenge. The animation and game play is smooth and premium quality, but if you lack the patience you can easily lose interest after playing the game a few times. The replay value is moderate since the medals, and hidden characters are enough to keep you going. The simpleness of the fighting of the game is a bit repetetive but if you like simple fighting like games you'll probably have a blast.
Its very rare to find a story that is both well written, animated, and consistently worked on in production. Oscar Johansson exceles in all 3 categories as he integrates a different and unique tale which is filled with intriuging plot, continous improving and impressive animation, and is told in a unique way as only Johansson is capable of doing. Although the animation is stick style art, Johannson raises the bar on intricate and elegant stick style to a pinnacle that is very rarely seen in any flash. The Castle series is a work of art that at its current pace could quite possibly translate very well into a professionally animated film, or mini series. Johansson's ability to dive into character development is remarkeable and it leaves the audience captivated and always wanting more. He has yet to fail thus far in story quality and those who appericiate this work can't wait for the latest release. Excellent usage of the music, and the animation style as far as far as detail to camera angle and presentation is border line profesional. Excellent work once again I highly look forward to your latest work!

For 5 years ago not bad
Remember folks this movie was made 5 years ago. And since then the world of flash has improved dramatically so cut the guy some slack.
